Training Bookings

From this week training bookings will be as per this booking schedule as most Majura teams will start training this week. There will be a copy of the training bookings up on the noticeboard near the canteen entry so if teams are unsure of their field then please check the noticeboard. If one of your teams does not have a training field allocated or has not notified us of their training venue could they please contact Jo Smith, the Majura Administration Officer ASAP.

Tuesday and Thursday nights are the club’s busiest training nights so preference for that night will be given to teams in the U12- U18 age group.


Majura Miniroos Gala Day

Majura will be holding a Gala Day for all Miniroos players (U5 – U11) on Saturday 29 April. Teams are asked to register by COB Thursday April 27 by emailing the Majura Administration Officer so that game times can be worked out prior to the day. We are hoping that we will have enough teams so that everyone gets to play at least two games. The following kick off times are proposed for each age group but please be aware this may change a bit depending on the number of teams we have register:

There is no cost for the Gala Day but we will have some gold coin donation boxes at the canteen and clubhouse we are raising money for the Parkin Fund which has been established to help support players who need help to play. The canteen and merchandise shop will both be open. Please register your team by COB Thursday April 27.

Miniroos Coaching Course

Capital Football will be conducting a Miniroos Coaching Certificate coaching course at Dickson Fields on Gala Day Saturday 29 April. The course will run from 9.00am – 12noon and you must register for the course here.

This is a great chance of all new coaches to learn some skills and drills for your team. This 3 hour course is fully practical and encourages coaches to develop practices that are based on FUN. The emphasis is on natural development i.e. learning by PLAYING football. Another highlight of the course is that coaches are exposed to basic rules of the game as well as tips and hints on building a football culture in a completely practical setting.


Majura Shop Opening Times

The Majura merchandise shop has shorts, socks, shin guards and other Majura merchandise available for purchase. You can’t purchase online, you have to visit the shop. We can take cash or credit card (2% surcharge). The shop will be open at the following times:

  • Saturday 29 April 9.00am – 1.00pm
  • Wednesday 3 May 5.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Thursday 4 May 5.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Every Saturday during the season 8.30am – 11.30am

Coaches' and Managers' Meetings

The coaches' and managers' meetings are important information sessions and we would like all coaches and managers to attend. Topics covered include the role of the committee including age group coordinators, role of the coach, role of the manager, player and volunteer safety, coaching courses, equipment and uniforms, duty rosters, game day and training bookings.

Training Bookings

ACT Sportsgrounds re-open on April 1 so training at Dickson Fields and Watson Oval can start then. Teams should book fields for training by emailing the Majura Administration Officer. Tuesday and Thursday nights are the club’s busiest training nights so preference for that night will be given to teams in the U12- U18 age group.

Training bookings will be finalised after the coaches and managers meetings but teams are welcome to send in their preferred times now.

Games will run from 10:00am – 1:00pm and the canteen and merchandise shop will both be open. More details will be provided at the Coaches' and Managers' meetings.
